ePortfolio Interoperability
The interoperability issue goes much beyond the transfer of one ePortfolio from one system to another system (export/import). It includes the management of digital identity as underpinning layer for sharing information across systems under the control of individuals, as well as the format useful to different communities (e.g. education or human resources) and the protocols to discover and exchange resources (web services).

Europortfolio and EIfEL are promoting the following projects / working groups:
- HR-XML Europass / Europortfolio CV application profile for ePortfolio
- Liberty Alliance HR ID-SIS
- Concordia project to study digital identity interoperability for ePortfolio
- Europortfolio Application Profile of IMS ePortfolio for ePortfolio package interoperability in Europe
- Microformats and ePortfolio (such as hResume, hCard...)
Most of these have already been study during ePortfolio Plugfests linked with EIfEL / Europortfolio ePortfolio International Conferences.
