The University of Queensland (UQ) is a research intensive institution with comprehensive teaching programs across all discipline areas. It is ranked in the top 100 universities worldwide, has over 46,000 currently enrolled students of which more then 11,000 are international students hailing from 142 countries.
The Inter/National Coalition for Electronic Portfolio Research convenes research/practitioners to study the impact of eportfolios on student learning and educational outcomes. Each year ten institutions selected through an application process constitute a three-year cohort. Each campus works on an individual project that asks "What learning is taking place as a function of electronic portfolios?" and "How do we know?"
This book clearly articulates the foundations of an educational vision that is distinctively supported by eportfolio use, drawing on work in philosophy, sociology, higher and adult education, and elearning research.
