Meram Centre of Counseling and Research is a state institution consisting of various towns subject to Konya and serving a population of 403000. It has been coordinating Counseling Service of 120 Education Institutions ranging from nursery to high school in Meram district.

The institution is consisted of two departments: Special Education and Psychological consultancy and Counseling. Within the centre, 8 Psychologic Consultants, a teacher for hearing- impaired students, a teacher for students with mental disorders, and a teacher for special education are assigned.

The University of Macerata was founded in 1290 and it is one of the oldest universities in Europe. Its main activities are focused on the humanities and social sciences.
