EUfolio: Promoting 21st Century Skills with ePortfolios

First ePortfolio classroom usage examples were presented at the 3rd EUfolio partner meeting in Ljubljana (15-16 April 2014).

Teachers and a principal from Ljubljana/Polje held presentations entitled "How to encourage critical thinking with the help of Mahara". They showed usage examples of ePortfolios in lower secondary school in Slovenia. In the framework of the EU funded project EUfolio, ePortfolio based teaching is piloted in lower secondary teaching in a range of member states. EUfolio partners from Cyprus were also able to show the first Mahara ePortfolio examples from their piloting schools. Besides supporting their piloting schools, the Cypriot experts are responsible for important project tasks in teacher CPD, support of teachers and evaluation of the pilot.

Find out more about the piloting preparations in Lithuania, Spain and Ireland via the EUfolio website (http://eufolio.eu/) and via a report on the meeting at http://mahara.eufolio.eu/view/view.php?id=4441

One of the outcomes of EUfolio will be a Policy Maker's Manual - drafted under the lead of the Bulgarian project partners. It will address policy makers at national or regional level who want to implement ePortfolios in schools. The basis for the manual will be EUfolio's evidence of it's pilot implementation and the underlying strategic papers, platform development experiences, training material, support strategies, and case studies from the school pilots.
