Upcoming: Kick-off for Founding of Austrian Chapter of EUROPORTFOLIO

The ePortfolio approach is a great way to tackle fragmentation in educational systems: fragmentation of the schooling system, between formal and informal learning, learning and teaching.

The project EUROPORTFOLIO started an initiative to bring together researchers, ePortfolio experts and practitioners through an online portal.

Now we are glad to announce the founding of an Austrian chapter within the EUROPORTFOLIO initiative, which is supported by the KidZ project of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education and Women’s Affairs (bm:bf).
The founding initiative is lead by

  • the Department of Interactive Media and Educational Technologies, Danube University Krems,
  • the University of Teacher Education Vienna (PH Wien) and
  • the University of Teacher Education Lower Austria (PH Niederösterreich).

Founding will take place at the "E-Learning day" of FH Joanneum in Graz on the 17th of September.

A workshop on ePortfolios and Open Badges, lead by Klaus-Himpsl-Gutermann (PH Wien) and Andrea Ghoneim (Danube University Krems) will introduce participants to new developments around ePortfolios and Open Badges by presenting the EUROPORTFOLIO portal, discussing EUROPORTFOLIO's products (like the matrix for ePortfolios and Open Badges) and showing participants how to participate in the Austrian Chapter and to contribute to the portal.

The workshop, which will be held in German, aims at bringing together experts and practitioners from Austria with the goal of starting a vivid community for sharing information, experience and strategies and discussing good practice with ePortfolios.

It will be also the starting signal for a collection of content on ePortfolios in German language.

We are excited to start a vibrant hub of ePortfolio expertise in German, which will soon be connected to the German chapter of EUROPORTFOLIO, as the German chapter will be founded in December this year.

We look forward to meeting you - either at FH Joanneum or online!
