The objective of Europortfolio is to establish a European Cooperation Network of experts and practitioners from four sectors in the field of ePortfolios:

  1. Further and Higher Education
  2. Vocational Education and Training
  3. Employment — human resources management, career counselors, etc.
  4. Lifelong Learning — all the actors of non-formal and informal learning

The target groups are ePortfolio experts & practitioners, Policy makers and global ePortfolio community.

Europortfolio will:

  1. Undertake inventory of ePortfolio and ePortfolio-related practices and models in Europe to present key findings and evidence on the state of-the-art;
  2. synthesise learning from the Inventory to promote strategies of effective practice, sustainable implementation and consistent management;
  3. highlight the evidence for the efficacy of such approaches and the reasons for this efficacy, e.g. success factors;
  4. develop ePortfolio capacity of the four target groups within the four sectors while bridging sectors and groups around a common ePortfolio framework.

This will be achieved by:

  • Defining a framework for the integration of ePortfolios in educational institutions, the world of work at institutional, regional, national and international levels
  • Transfering crucial knowledge from early adopters of ePortfolio initiatives to new ePortfolio initiatives and by such contributing to a transnational and transversal knowledge exchange related to ePortfolios, both at policy and institutional levels
  • Contributing to the definition and implementation of ePortfolio policies, based upon evidence-informed practice, and a shared European perspective
  • Raising awareness among educators, end-users and employers/enterprises to promote technological innovation in education as well as practices of reflective learning
  • Developing an agenda for further action, in particular encourage the emergence of new ePortfolio initiatives to contribute to innovative learning practices, transparency and quality assurance of educational systems, formal and informal;
  • Developing further the Europortfolio Learning Community Portal as a sustainable European ePortfolio information platform and social community of actors with live stream of current practices
  • Enhancing the dialogue with international research networks, policy makers and educational leaders with the creation of an international network of experts and practitioners.

Main outcomes of the project are:
